2 Days Until World Diabetes Day- BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

With World Diabetes Day only two days away it is time to make a big announcement for what I plan to do to celebrate the day!

I plan to launch a website!

How Did The Website Come About?

As I mentioned in other blogs that when I got back from the IDF Youth Leadership Camp I decided to set up a diabetes support group with a friend and fellow volunteer- Mike. Who I met at the Diabetes UK Family Days and Young Persons Projects. The group is all about providing support for 'the forgotten ones', those people aged 18-30 who have diabetes, regardless of the type. And the website is a way of reaching the people we would like to support, through a medium that is appealing to them.

Who Is The Website For?

The website is for young people and adults aged between 18-30 including young professionals, students and those just embarking on their adult life. The exciting content is completely focussed on their needs and their diabetes. From the top tips for diabetes section with helpful comments on how to get along with certain aspects of the condition. To the integrated blue circle social media platforms all linked together to allow the diabetes online community to care and connect with each other.

When Will The Website Be Launched?

The website will be launched at 8am on the morning of the 14th November. We went with this launch date because the day is a special one to myself and Mike. As we both have Type 1 diabetes and the day commemorates not only World Diabetes Day, but also the birthday of one of the men that had the idea for the diabetes treatment we know and rely on today. So watch this space and come visit us when we launch!
