As a result of closely monitoring how my diabetes and blood sugars behave during exercise, I'm acutely aware of the possible effect that adrenaline can have, in anticipation of sporting performance.
But whilst at BBC Radio Wales to do the newspaper review yesterday, it was interesting to be able to see how nerves and adrenaline before going on air showed an immediate spike in glucose levels. As I'm using the Abbott Freestyle Libre sensor and reader at the moment, I was immediately able to see what was going on (pictured below). And the little indicator arrow shows that my levels would be heading that way for a little while longer, in fact until I'd completed my first show and the nerves had subsided a bit!
