When I started looking for my outfit, I knew I wanted a dress and I really wanted it to be 1950's inspired. This was because as well as admiring the style of the era, I love the feminine silhouettes that are fitted, coming in at the waist and back out at the hips. Which is also a brilliant way to cover an insulin pump, enabling me to wear it on my, without it affecting the silhouette by making my waist look lumpy. One of the great things about the Medtronic MiniMed 640g is that you can use the blood glucose monitor that works with the insulin pump, to bolus remotely without even having to touch the pump! So with this in mind, I decided to add a 1950's style petticoat to my outfit, and this was the result... Can you see my pump?
Our engagement photoshoot has been booked for quite a few weeks, and I've slowly been forming the idea in my head of what I'd like to wear. I've been wearing an insulin pump for the last seven years, and I've just recently started a trial for the Medtronic MiniMed 640G so how that would look in my outfit was as much a consideration as the outfit itself.
