My role on the night was to help prepare some of the food, although we were incredibly fortunate to have the skills of a professional chef and his partner who worked tirelessly in the kitchen to create an Italian feast. I then helped take peoples' orders, and to serve the diners with us for the evening. Thanks to the generosity of Tesco, people had the choice of tuna bakes, pesto pasta and pizza mains, with side dishes of vegetables, salad and then whole range of dessert options.
We were also joined by the Tesco staff from Culver House Cross and Pengam Green, who got stuck in with helping serve people food too. All of which made for an incredibly warm and friendly atmosphere for the event, which lasted into the evening, when people had had enough to eat and had food to go home with too.
But not content with this being the end of the community meal events for the year, the amazing STAR Communities First staff are already planning a meal for around Christmas time. Hopefully complete with turkey and santa for the children, so I look forward to updating you on the progress of this event too.
